The Toronto Maple Leafs have filed a lawsuit against Snoop Dogg, in which they accuse the rapper of “copying” their logo for his new Leafs by Snoop weed company. According to The Independent, the Maple Leafs say that the “unusual spelling of Leafs could lead to confusion.” The ice hockey franchise also has objections to the branding and logos being proposed by Snoop, noting that “the similarity between the marks is exacerbated by the design elements of the LEAFS BY SNOOP Mark.” The legal drama allegedly started back in July 2018, when Snoop filed to trademark the intellectual property and branding of his weed start-up.
