We’re here today to celebrate Miracle Treat Day in support of Children’s Miracle Network®.!!

Today, 100 per cent of net proceeds from every Blizzard® Treat sold across the country will be donated to Children’s Miracle Network member hospitals.

Here in the Maritimes we’re supporting the the IWK Health Centre.

If you can’t purchase a Blizzard Treat but want to support Miracle Treat Day, you can make a donation at any Dairy Queen that will go directly to your local affiliated Children’s Miracle Network member hospital.

Last year, Dairy Queen locations in the Maritimes raised more than $235,000 for the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, our region’s only children’s hospital.

This year marks the 35th anniversary of Dairy Queen locations in the Maritimes supporting the IWK.

Since the partnership began in 1984, Dairy Queen has raised more than $39 million in support of sick and injured children across Canada.

Almost 5,000 children enter a Children’s Miracle Network hospital for treatment every day, making partnerships like this so important.

Treat yourself to a Blizzard Treat at Dairy Queen today (August 8th) and show your support for your local children’s hospital.

If you’re talking about Miracle Treat Day on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, don’t forget to include the #MiracleTreatDay hashtag!!

For the 17th year running, participating Dairy Queen Canada locations will donate net proceeds from all Blizzard Treats sold to 12 Children’s Miracle Network member hospitals nationwide including the IWK Health Centre here in the Maritimes.

On average, 35,000 children enter a Children’s Miracle Network hospital each week. That’s 5,000 per day or 62 per minute.

To support these children and their families, Dairy Queen staff, volunteers and stakeholders come together to highlight Miracle Treat Day and help raise funds. “Maritime Dairy Queens have been supporting the IWK for 35 years raising more than $235,000 this past year alone, which is absolutely incredible,” says Jennifer Gillivan, President & CEO, IWK Foundation. “Dairy Queen owners and operators, staff and supporters have become part of the IWK team. Their continued generosity year after year helps ensure our patients live their best possible lives. We can’t thank them enough.”

“At Dairy Queen Canada we see our role as serving communities, whether that’s providing families a place to make memories and enjoy a treat in the summer, or through our partnership with Children’s Miracle Network,” said Candida Ness, Senior Director of Marketing, Dairy Queen Canada.

“We are so proud of our ability to support Miracle Treat Day and we’re grateful for the tireless work that our franchisees do year-round to make this happen.”
