1 Run 2 Grayson-Dal Tigers Football Team Rally for Team Mate

Jun 3 - Aug 24

Dalhousie Men’s Football Team rally to support Team Mate Grayson Domingues Event:  1Run Community Fundraiser Run Location: First Lake Trail in Lower Sackville (Sackville Sports Stadium Parking Lot will be the take-off spot) Date & Time: August 24th, 2024, 1PM start Short Summary: 1Run was initially founded in 2023 by members of the Dalhousie Football team to honor teammate Grayson Domingues, who had recently been diagnosed with cancer. To honor his cause, a week-long virtual run and fundraiser was organized, and more than $8,000 was raised for the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. This year, the 1Run committee is seeking to expand the event, hosting an in-person run on August 24th, 2024, at the First Lake Trail in Lower Sackville. Money will be raised for the entire summer beforehand, and the funds from this year’s fundraiser will go to the QE2’s cancer center, where Grayson recently underwent surgery to get his tumors removed. This run will also be an official run under Run Nova Scotia regulations. Grayson’s Story: Early in 2023, Grayson wasn’t feeling well, so he sought medical attention. At that time, he was diagnosed with Esophageal cancer. He was later diagnosed with liver cancer as well. As he is originally from Toronto, upon hearing this news, he returned home for treatment – to be closer to his family and support system; leaving behind over 70 brothers who continue to love and support him from ~1,800 KMs away. He is currently home in Toronto rehabilitating after surgery to remove his tumors. Details
