Shop the many vendors in the community room at Centennial Arena  as well as those outside including our farmers and food trucks.

If you run out of cash while at the market, drop by the information table to purchase Market Bucks using your credit or debit card. These bucks are available in $5 denominations and can be used to shop at any of our vendors during the 2024 season.

The market is FREE for EVERYONE so drop by!!

Halifax Story Slam

Halifax Story Slam: True stories told live. Without a net.

Expect an unforgettable evening of storytelling at the inaugural “Story Slam” event, in partnership with Halifax Public Libraries, on Oct 29, 2024, at Paul O’Regan Hall, Halifax Central Library! ????? For this singular experience, curated storytellers will share their own true tales on the theme of “fear.” Through workshops with seasoned story editors, each presenter will be guided to refine their story for an exciting evening of storytelling.

Think you have a story to share? We’re calling for participants! Submit your pitch at the link provided: keep it rough, keep it short – two sentences or a one-minute voice/video message. Also, you can email it directly to halifaxstoryslam@gmail.com. Here is a link to the Facebook Event.

Evergreen Festival is a multi-week outdoor winter celebration of Nova Scotian culture, food, spirits, craft, art, and memorable experiences. Local retailers, restaurants, hotels, attractions, and public spaces throughout the Halifax region will offer holiday light displays and festive programming to celebrate the season. The Evergreen Festival features four dynamic components: Evergreen Market, Evergreen Stage, Evergreen Bright and Evergreen Winter Sports Zone!

EVERGREEN MARKET: Shop local on the Halifax waterfront at the open-air Evergreen Market. Discover over 20 cozy wooden chalets with vendors from across the province offering a variety of local food, drink, apparel, gifts, and more. EVERGREEN WINTER SPORTS ZONE: Experience free winter sports activities, brought to you by Decathlon. Ball hockey, archery, curling pads and more! Special appearances by the Halifax Mooseheads, Evolve Fitness, R Studios, and more! Join the fun and visit the Evergreen Winter Sports Zone, located in Foundation Lot South on the Halifax Waterfront (1549 Lower Water Street).

EVERGREEN BRIGHT: A walkable outdoor trail of twinkling holiday light displays and installations along the Halifax waterfront, throughout downtown Halifax, downtown Dartmouth, and beyond. EVERGREEN STAGE:  Bundle up and get cozy stageside to hear some of your favorite local bands and musicians perform live from the Evergreen Stage, brought to you by Halifax Jazz Festival.

The Evergreen Stage Series is a free, family-friendly, and super festive event that you don’t want to miss. With a diverse range of musicians and performances plus tasty food and beverages provided by The Beer Garden (The BG) there’s something for everyone this holiday season. You can find the Evergreen Stage right next to The BG on the Halifax waterfront, along with other exciting Evergreen Festival features like the outdoor market, light displays, cocoa trail and more.
